Once he has been defeated, take the Elder Scroll, and speak to Valerica. Let Valerica and Serana handle any of the minions while you focus on Durnehviir. There will also be numerous skeletons in combat, but they will die along with him. Once inside the Boneyard, you will have to "slay" Durnehviir. She will then lead you into the Boneyard. Once the final Keeper is defeated, the quest will update and you will need to return to Valerica. One possible strategy is to use Unrelenting Force to blast them off the edge of the towers. The keepers themselves may prove to be quite a challenge to lower level players. Sadly you can't pick up any of their armor that they drop, only their weapons, which are mostly of poor quality. Arvak will do nicely for this purpose.Įach of the Keepers will have 1-4 minions ( bonemen, mistmen or wrathmen) that will attack you, usually ahead of your encountering the Keeper. Because of this it is recommended that you have some means of quick transportation. The locations of the Keepers are relatively far apart. The quest markers will lead to all three. The Keepers each live in separate towers, apart from the main Boneyard. During the course of interacting with her, she will reveal that the barrier can only be removed by defeating the three Boneyard Keepers. While you are able to speak with her, she cannot be reached due to an invisible barrier. If you’re heavily modding, or using conflicting mods, try uninstalling some/all. If you’ve tried all of the above and still nothing It’s over. If this has happened to you on console, I recommend going through your quest log to see the recent COMPLETED QUESTS tab. There are times when I’ve told Serana to ‘wait’ somewhere, like outside of a cave/dungeon (she isn’t very stealthy, IMO) and completely forgot about her when I was done. This has sometimes been affected if you choose to return to bring her mother back. In VERY FEW INSTANCES, I have come across her inside the Soul Cairn. She sometimes does return to Castle Volkihar, I’ve found her in BOTH the “Training Area” where you first use your Vampire Lord powers AND the Castle Volkihar Balcony (inside and out) I’m playing on PC now, but I used to play Skyrim on XBOX and PS4- HERE IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME:Ĭheck ALL homes that your character owns I’ve found her randomly in Solitude (both on the streets and in shops) even though our “base” was in Markarth.
